We have received hundreds of
votes for the RollOnFriday Firm of the Year award (in association with Times
Online). There's still
another week to vote, but at the halfway
point the results look like this.
Berwin Leighton Paisner is in poll position based on factors including pay, work/life balance and prospects - and also because it has the most attractive staff of any law firm. Other firms currently doing well include Olswang and Wragges (which has the best biscuits).

The RollOnFriday award - still up for grabs | |
A&O has so far been voted top of the pay scale (no surprises there), followed by Slaughter and May and Linklaters. Taylor Wessing, Baker & McKenzie and Berwin Leighton Paisner are fighting it out for best work/life balance - untroubled by Cleary Gottlieb, where "as long as work is your life, then the work/life balance is great". And the best place to take a dump is Clifford Chance.
Those with the lowest overall scores so far include Macfarlanes, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert and SJ Berwin (where assistants enjoy "an absolute beasting without a word of thanks ever being heard from the profit greedy partners"). Herbert Smith is apparently so tight it turns off the air conditioning after 7pm and at weekends. And RollOnFriday analysts were slightly disturbed to discover that a partner at Lupton Fawcett "plays the piano with his willy".
The field is still wide open, so make sure you have your say. Voting closes at the end of next week.
